Avery received her BA in Psychology and Criminology with a minor in International Studies from the University of Denver in 2020. She entered the Legal Psychology PhD program at FIU in 2021 working under Dr. Ron Fisher. Her research interests are broadly investigative interviewing and improving the efficacy of police investigative techniques. Additionally, she is interested in understanding and breaking through the barriers to the implementation of psychological findings into policework.
